Deepak Chopra’s “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success”

My old friend recommended this book to me. At first glance, when I saw the title “Seven spiritual laws!!”, I thought it might be dull. However, noticing the fewer number of pages and being mindful not to hurt my well-wisher’s feelings, I decided to finish it quickly. The book outlines seven laws, starting with the Law of Pure Potentiality, followed by the Law of Giving, the Law of Karma or Cause and Effect, the Law of Least Effort, the Law of Detachment, and concluding with the Law of Dharma or Purpose in Life.

The Law of Pure Potentiality delves into self-analysis, guiding us to understand our consciousness and identity, and to use our potential for the greater good. By understanding ourselves, we can recognize our unique talents and use them to help humanity. This journey involves connecting with nature and practicing non-judgment.

The Law of Giving explores the art of giving and receiving. Nature itself demonstrates this dynamic. Giving doesn’t always mean material gifts; it can also involve prayers or well-wishes. Simultaneously, it’s essential to be receptive to love and gifts from others.

The Law of Karma encourages us to consider the consequences of our choices. Before making decisions, we should assess whether they will impact others and lead to happiness and fulfillment. We should also contemplate if our choices bring us comfort or discomfort.

The Law of Least Efforts promotes accepting circumstances and taking responsibility for our lives. Each challenge presents an opportunity. Being open to different viewpoints, much like a bird’s effortless song or a blade of grass swaying in the wind, allows us to flow with life. Instead of resisting, we should let life’s energy guide us.

The Law of Intention and Desire suggests making a list of desires and then surrendering them in silence. What’s meant for us will unfold naturally.

The Law of Detachment advises us to let go of attachment to outcomes and immerse ourselves in the process. Active participation, enjoying the journey, and gently detaching from outcomes can infuse life with adventure.

The Law of Dharma involves exploring our unique abilities to serve humanity. It asks: How can we help others whom we care about?

My initial perspective on the book has transformed significantly. It even led me to revisit the content through the audiobook format.

In conclusion, these laws are intertwined. They guide us to discover our best selves, spread love, make wise decisions with less effort, maintain clear intentions while detaching from results, and ultimately, serve the human community selflessly with boundless love.
